This morning the 2017 Oscar Nominees were announced and you have your mission, movie lovers. Nine best picture nominees (holding back my opinion on this…for now), 33 days until Oscar Sunday, start planning accordingly. Hopefully, you have a bit of a headstart with a movie or two already under your belt.
We hope you’ll join us in this year’s Oscar adventure, but of course, we’re happy to be your Best Picture cheat sheet, should you so choose.
I know today the Internet is full of snubs and snark, picking apart what the Academy got right and wrong, but at least for today, I’ll skip that (for now…).
But don’t worry, Amy, Annette, Taraji, and all the others overlooked, the interwebs are outraged on your behalf. I just want to know who’s going to tell Dory.
“Deadpool,” I’m sorry, but you’ll have to get at the back of the snub pity party line. I’m all for some superhero movie love from the Academy, but acknowledging blockbusters is the least of our problems right now.
Today, I simply offer my congratulations to the nominees. Let the viewing parties begin!
