REVIEW! Border Biscuits Chocolate and Orange Shortbread

Today is day 2 of Border Biscuits Week and I am reviewing these Chocolate and Orange Shortbreads. You can view yesterday's review of their Chocolate Chip Cookies here.
These shortbread are part of the Deliciously Different range and are inspired by dessert style flavours in a biscuit. They are butter shortbread with dark chocolate chunks and candied orange pieces.  There are 10 biscuits in the 175g box and each one is 85 calories.

Each biscuit is a sort of cog-shape ring and they smell very orangey indeed. The texture is heavier than the cookies that I reviewed yesterday but you would expect that from a shortbread, they are also much softer but still have a good firmness about them.
The shortbread tastes buttery and the chocolate and orange flavours are delicious. The orange is strong you can taste it throughout the biscuit rather than just in the candied orange pieces which are quite chewy. The dark chocolate chunks compliments the orange nicely.
Verdict
I really enjoyed the flavor of these Chocolate and Orange Shortbreads but I wasn't overly keen on the texture of the candied orange.
