{Review} Dettol Touch of Foam Hand Wash

Posted on the 06 December 2012 by Meltingmoments

I get excited about new products so when a bottle of Dettol Touch of Foam arrived on our door step, (thanks to Nuffnang’s Product Talk) I was definitely happy to try it out. In fact, I’d already been eying this product off at the local supermarket.

I tested this product in two parts of our house, the kitchen and the bathroom.

Cooking is one of my favourite pastimes, but it’s also no secret that I can get in quite a mess. On Friday I decided to make some Thai style chicken meatballs. I was wrist deep in chicken mince and ginger when the phone rang. I pumped out some Dettol Touch of Foam and rubbed it all over my hands and through my fingers, then flicked on the tap and washed it off. I answered the phone and while I was talking, I noticed the lovely fragrance coming from my hands.

Returning back to the cooking, I washed my hands many more times. What I particularly noticed about this hand wash is the coverage. Regular pump style hand wash is sticky and you really have to get a good lather up to make your hands feel clean. Dettol Touch of Foam is soft and silky and its ‘micro bubbles’ make the soap easy to apply all over your hands. Not only did my hands feel sanitised after working with chicken, but they felt moisturised. With skin as sensitive as mine, I was happy to use a handwash that didn’t leave my hands feeling dry or itchy.

I was already enjoying using this product when I decided to move it to the bathroom. Chasing our almost two year old daughter around to wash her hands is a regular occurrence. This particular day, she had been eating a nectarine and was incredibly upset that I had taken the seed from her. She wanted to eat that too. I pumped some foam out into my hands, which really took her attention away from the seed. “Oooh,” she said, as I rubbed it on my hands and then washed it off. She stretched out her hands to gesture “My turn.” She giggled when I put some on her hands, and we sang “Wash, washy, wash” (in no particular tune) as I lifted her up to rinse her hands under the running water. Crisis averted.

The Touch of Foam lives in the bathroom. I love knowing that it kills 99.9% of germs. That is ideal for the hands of little explorers.

This will be a welcomed addition to my shopping list. The refill pack makes it more economical for families too.

Disclosure:  I received one bottle of Dettol Touch of Foam Wash for this review.  All opinions expressed are my very own.
