Ferrero Duplo is a fairly small chocolate bar at just 18g. It is a German bar and Monstersweets.co.uk sent me the milk chocolate and the limited edition white chocolate versions to review. If you haven't yet checked out their website Monster Sweets have Duplo bars for 55p each and many other European and American products.
The Duplo looks a bit like a log with the markings on the outside and it looks a lot like a chocolate covered version of a Tronky which is also made my Ferrero (I reviewed this a while back here). Like the Tronky, Duplo is a hazelnut and wafer based bar which doesn't come as a huge surprise from Ferrero but hey, they have this combination perfected!
Both the milk chocolate and white chocolate versions of the bar contain a fine hazelnut cream which is sandwiched between layers of wafer. This is then coated in the relevant chocolate.
Both bars had a lovely light texture and the chocolate was suitably creamy. My favorite of the 2 was the milk chocolate which surprised me because I usually favour white chocolate but I just think that although the white bar contains hazelnut too, the flavor was not as strong.
Verdict
I would definitely like a bigger version of Duplo because although they were both very nice bars, neither was quite big enough. Very tasty though and I imagine quite low in calories so I reckon I could get away with eating a couple in 1 sitting!
