Ok, I know it's a bit of a random one but today I am reviewing potatoes! I was recently asked if I would like to try GreenVale FarmFresh potatoes and I thought that it might make a nice change from reviewing the usual snacks and guess what? It's National Potato week!
GreenVale FarmFresh come in an old style paper potato sack which is designed to keep them fresher for longer. They are a great all-rounder potato so are apparently ideal for boiling, roasting, mashing or making chips (mmm chips!).
They are a variety of potato called Jelly which I must admit I have never heard of, to be honest I just buy whatever loose potatoes are in the supermarket without paying much attention to the variety so I was keen to see what was so special about these particular spuds.
I decided to make myself a nice jacket potato with cheese and beans; quick and easy! I have to say that it was a particularly nice jacket potato and I was surprised at the lovely buttery taste considering there was no butter added!
Verdict
Not exactly being a potato connoisseur, I didn't think I was going to taste a difference with these but actually GreenVale FarmFresh were extremely tasty and I can definitely see myself looking out for these instead of just going for the loose potatoes. They are available from Tesco for around £2.50 for a 2kg bag and you can also find them in Booths if you are in the North East.
