I don't think that you can really call this Percy Pig an Easter Egg because there is nothing egg shaped about him. To be fair the box doesn't claim that he is an egg but he is definitely pretending to be one because he is being sold at Easter and he was in the Easter section of Marks and Spencer. Egg or not, he is ridiculously cute and I was thrilled when Mr Review Addict bought him for me.
The box describes him as Percy Pig flavor white chocolate which sounded awesome as I am a huge fan of Percy Pig sweets. One fifth of the 215g egg...I mean pig...is 230 calories and Mr Review Addict paid £6. Percy apparently has a new chocolate recipe, sadly I didn't get to try him before now but Gobble Monkey reviewed him last year.
Verdict The thing about Easter is that you tend to get charged more for less chocolate. If you were buying a bar of chocolate you would pay much less than if it was an egg shaped piece of chocolate of the same weight. So the key to a good Easter Egg...or pig in this case is to make your item have a good novelty value and M&S have definitely got that right here. Percy would have been more awesome if he came with some actual Percy Pigs sweets inside.
