I spotted a new flavor of Popchips in Sainsbury's the other day and had to try them! Thai Sweet Chilli Flavour! I reviewed the BBQ Popchips a few months ago and it's safe to say that they have become a regular purchase in The Review Addict household.
Popchips are "popped" rather than fried or baked and this gives them quite a unique texture but one that I really like. The best thing about Popchips for me however is that they are low in fat compared to a lot of other crisps and you can have 23g or approximately 18 chips for just 95 calories. Below is a picture of that serving size and I think it's pretty decent.
Normally Popchips are £2 for an 85g bag in Sainsbury's but there is currently an offer and they are £1.50 a bag.
The Thai Sweet Chilli flavor is very nice and is described as a fusion of sweet and spicy. They are only slightly sweet and they have a nice heat to them. I could taste the chilli, onion and a hint of lemongrass I believe.
Verdict This is only the 2nd variety of Popchips that I have tried and I have to say that I am impressed with the strength of the flavours. I love the crunchy texture and the fact that Popchips are lower in fat. I am looking forward to trying Katy's Kettle Corn next!
