l spotted these limited edition Totally Chocolatey Mint Rice Krispie Squares in Asda today. Totally Chocolaely Mint flavor is crispy grains of chocolate toasted rice cereal and mint milk chocolate chunks with a chocolate flavor coating. A pack of 4 was on offer for £1.
Rice Krispies Squares are a regtangular shaped snack from Kelloggs which really doesn't make much sense. Kelloggs has been playing on this in their recent marketing campaign with the slogan "It's all lies, they are not even square". The ad campagin even features a line up of Rice Krispies Squares who are "wanted for lying".
l have tried the original Marshmallow Rice Krispies Squares and also the Chocolate Caramel and Totally Chocolate flavours, all of which I have enjoyed. Totally Chocolately Mint flavor is 149 calories per 34g bar and for anyone doing Slimming WorId, these work out at about 7.5 syns which isn't bad for a pretty decent sized chocolate hit.
I like the chewy consistency and the lightness of this snack and taste-wise, the bar was nice and chocolately throughout with plently of the little chocolate chunks on the top. The mint is quite subtle though which is a little bit disappointing.
Verdict
I enjoyed these Totally Chocolatey Mint Rice Krispies Squares but these were just too weak on the mint front to make me sad about them only being a limited edition; I doubt I will be stocking up before they disappear. If however you only like a hint of mint you will probably like these.
