{Review} Tassles, Pom Poms and Lanterns – Oh My!

Posted on the 18 September 2013 by Meltingmoments

“Ooooh, what’s this?” were my 2.5 year old daughter’s words on inspecting a very colourful flat package in front of her.

“A hat mummy?” as she put it on her head.

It was in fact, a beautifully hand sewn Happy Lantern from Gold Fish Gifts. I pulled out each side to create the dome and explained what it was.
“Oh, cool,” she said as she fluffed the tassels and prodded the pom-poms.

What I love about it, is that it’s a perfect match for the decor in her nursery. It has been carefully handcrafted using recycled scraps of fabric. Importantly, it has been made by woman in India, ethically, as you would expect from Gold Fish Gifts.

The colours and textures are appealing to the eye. We have placed it above the nappy change table which provides a great distraction for a restless toddler and makes for some lovely conversations about its colours, materials and shape.

The Happy Lantern would indeed make a lovely addition to a playroom or bedroom and comes in a few different colours. It would make a beautiful baby shower or new arrival gift.

Have a look at how lovely it suits my little girl’s room:
