The Purim Parade

Uggghhh….I’m all tuckered out today!  I am completely lacking my usual gusto to write a blog and focus on one thing.  I’ve been awake since 5am and am just so blahhhh.

This is all because of the Purim Parade yesterday.  Now don’t get me wrong…I absolutely love every single thing about the Purim Parade.  I will even go as far as to say it is probably my favorite day of the school year at my job.

The Purim Parade involves the entire school of 300+ students..with parents and grandparents coming to watch to snap photos.  I spend the time running up and down the hallway playing guitar and singing at the top of the lungs to make certain every student hears music and is uplifted with energetic enthusiasm.  It takes about 30 minutes of this to get the entire school to their eventual destination of being outdoors.

That 30 minutes of running around is one of the most exciting & exhausting 30 minutes of the entire year.  I don’t really think it’s the physical exertion that throws me for a loop though.  Instead, I think my crash of adrenaline when it’s all said and done is what I’m really feeling.

Caught up in the moment!

The parade is one big adrenaline sucking monster…and I love it and can’t wait until for next year.

My song of the day today is Neil Young’s “Rocking in the Free World,” a high octane tune that seems to embody all of the energy I was feeling yesterday.  Lyrically, it doesn’t relate to a Purim Parade at all, but the mood of it is what I am relating to today.  Check it out….you’ll know what I mean.  I’m listening to it enjoying a jammie & coffee morning embracing this adrenaline crash.  Phew’
