Last weekend, I took a trek up to Claremont, CA to visit Rounds Premium Burgers.
Their concept was pretty simple:
1) Pick your Patty:
Beef, Turkey, Vegetarian, or Chicken Breast.
2) Pick Your Sauce
Thousand Island, Chipotle Aoili, Garlic Aoili, Chipotle Ketchup, Tabasco Ketchup, Buttermilk Ranch, BBQ Sauce, Teriyaki Sauce, and Buffalo Sauce
3) Choose Your Toppings
Lettuce, Red Onions, Grilled Onions, Tomato, Pickles
4) Add Cheese (.75cents)
American, Cheddar, Blue Cheese, Jack, Swiss, Feta
5) Add Premium Toppings (1.00)
Crispy Onion Strings, Fresh Slice jalapenos, breaded jalapenos, avocados mash, sauteed mushrooms, grilled pineapples, homestyle chili, crispy bacon strips, green chili peppers, fried egg, bell peppers, and sliced olives.
6) Pick Your Bun
Fresh Bun, Fresh Wheat Bun, or Lettuce Wrap
They also had specialty burgers that you could order from:
The Commando (Just Meat and Bun)
The Western (BBQ Sauce, Bacon and Onion Strings)
The Western Devil (Buffalo Sauce, Bacon and Bread jalopenos, and cheese)
The Hawaiian (Teriyaki Sauce, Grilled Pineapple and Jack)
The Santa Fe (Chipotle Aoili, Green Chile Pepper and Jack)
The Greek (Herb Vinaigrette, Green Chile Mix, Sliced Olives, Feta Cheese)
The Triple Cheese (Melted American, Jack, and Cheddar with Garlic Aoili)
The Executive (Caramelized Onions, Bacon and Blue Cheese)
The Slopper (Lots of Chile, Cheese and Onions)
The Breakfast Sandwich (Two Fried Eggs, Bacon, and American)
Sounds Good, right?
That evening I chose the Hawaiian. I was curious about the combination, and I never had pineapple in a burger before. When the burgers come out, they do come out round, with their very Round bun too. That’s my burger. And it was very very good. The cheese and sauce blended nicely together.
This was a wonderful combination of the Vegetarian patty. For all of the vegetarians out there, you’ll be happy to know that Rounds cooks their vegetarian patty in a separate area than their meat patties.

New locations are opening up in Pasadena soon. So stop on by and try out their burgers. They’re worth it.
