Royal Asscher's Stars of Africa ring fetched $16,000 at a fundraising event for the Global Equality Fund and the Elton John AIDS foundation in Washington, D.C. last week. During the Human Rights Campain event, which was hosted by Sharon Stone, Royal Asscher president Lita Asscher volunteered her Stars of Africa floating diamond ring to benefit the two foundations. The ring (shown below) features .60 carats of diamonds floating in a sapphire globe.
The event honored U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Elton John for their efforts in raising awareness of HIV/AIDS worldwide.
