2 weeks ago, I was so hyped I updated my blog twice a day. In contrast, last whole week, I only updated my blog once, and that was a Monday. Now I feel kinda guilty for not updating my blog for a whole week! And I also realized that running your own blog is not a piece of cake, it’s more like baking a whole cake. Haha.
Random picture of Ryu with ghostly figure of dad in the background. Haha! Anyway, last Saturday (25th May 2013) was Ryu’s 29th birthday! Ryu is my brother-in-law a.k.a Tiff the Big Sis’ husband. Ryu happens to be a professional Yoga and Latin instructor! So all of us (his family and Tiff the Big Sis’ family) had dinner at this place called Maju Palace Restaurant. This restaurant is located on Level 5 of Maju Junction Mall.
We arrived at the restaurant at around 7 pm. There was actually a wedding ceremony going on at that restaurant that night! In fact, there were a lot of restaurants hosting wedding dinners that night that initially it was hard for us to book a room for Ryu’s birthday dinner. Apparently, Maju Palace happens to be one of the top Chinese Restaurants in Klang Valley serving cuisine that is pork-free!
The ambiance and the atmosphere of the place is WOW! To be honest, I have never heard of this place before and wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant. Maju Palace has 5 private dining rooms of various sizes which offer patrons a scenic view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. We booked a single table private dining room, and from my seat, I saw this!
Sort of my first time seeing the KL tower from such a close distance! Best thing about this restaurant is that the complex provides about 1500 covered parking lots! So convenient hor! Haha. The decorations in the restaurant were all really nice and classy, mostly flowers. LOL. I totally didn’t take any photos of the place because there were so many people (due to the wedding dinner). Geez, what a lame reason. Haha.
Anyway, the room that we booked also comes with a karaoke set. At first, I was determined that I didn’t want to join in in the karaoke. That’s cause I was kinda in a bad mood at first. But great Lord! I think I conquered the mic a lot. Haha! I suck at singing but secretly love karaoke sessions. LOL.
Some places offer great ambience but sucky food. Some places offer great food but sucky ambience. However, at Maju Palace, you get both GREAT ambience and AMAZING food! We didn’t order any set meals (even though it’s more worthwhile) because Dad the Daddy and Tiff the Big Sis can’t eat seafood.
For starters, we have SOUP! I ❤ soup. Haha! Each of us have our own individual serving of soup, and I ordered myself a Pumpkin Chicken Soup which was served in a pumpkin!
After a hearty meal, there’s dessert!
All the desserts on the table! Yum ~~~
Mandatory family picture during family dinner! Haha! From L-R : Mel the Lil Sis, Popo the Grandma, Ryu the BIL, Jon the Bro, Tiff the Big Sis, Mom the Mommy, ME, Ryu’s Mom, Dad the Daddy, Ryu’s Dad. Why Ryu’s Dad has that expression on his face? I have no idea myself. Probably bad timing. LOL.
They look so cute together right ❣
Make a wish and blow!
Suddenly everyone disappears and he cuts the cake. LOL.
Everyone got a plate specially arranged by Ryu. Haha!
Happy 29th Birthday Ryu ❣
I would definitely love to eat at Maju Palace again! In fact, I think I want to host my wedding here next time. Haha! That’s because I have a lot of Muslim friends and Chinese pork-free cuisine is the perfect thing. LOL. I mentioned somewhere above that Ryu is a professional Yoga and Latin instructor and so if you’re interested, feel free to contact him
