HBC products are supposed to contain Vitamins A, C and E. I just ignore that because I don't see how these vitamins work if they're in an eyeliner. I also can't understand why a liquid eyeliner is in an age defense range. If any one of you has an idea why, can you please enlighten me?
Packaging:The print fades eventually but the packaging is very convenient. San San Age Defense Liquid Eyeliner is quite small so it's not difficult to bring around.
The handle of the applicator is of the right length, allowing control. The tip is thin enough for you to create the thin line you want.
Smell:Smells like ink. It's not a smell that you'd like. You can smell it during application but once it's dried, it's undetectable.
Pigmentation:
It's not as pigmented as I would have wanted it to be. This has a brown version that is very "malabnaw", the color is like a very diluted brown watercolor. The black isn't as bad though.
Waterproof?
I distinctly remember wearing this during the night of Hurricane Sendong in Iligan. It hasn't moved until I got home despite the fact that I got soaked in the rain. But then it got rubbed off easily when I finally removed it using a cotton cloth. I sometimes wear this when I go swimming (not intentionally, it's more like I didn't had plans of swimming but ended up doing so anyway. That always happens to me), and I'm ok as long as I don't rub my eyes.
Texture:When it's brand new, it's still a bit runny. After a month or two, it gets thicker and it's easier to control(not sure if a good sign or a bad sign). I normally throw it away after a year of usage.
And I don't mind doing this because it only costs P75.
I think that's the reason why I always go back to this liner. It's the cheapest decent eyeliner in the market that I know of.
Sometimes though, instead of smudging, it flakes.
Swatches:
Does it dry fast?Unfortunately, it takes a while to dry. If you have monolids or hooded eyes, you need to keep your eyes closed for a while.
This works for me because although I have semi-hooded eyes, my upper lash line doesn't really touch my lids.
Likes:Really CheapAvailable in HBC (easy to find)Packaging and applicator is goodEasy to apply because of the felt tip
Dislikes:Not that pigmentedFlakes sometimes
Recommend?I especially recommend this to students. It's so affordable, you can't go wrong.
Repurchase?Definitely yes!
While it isn't perfect, San San Age Defense Liquid Eyeliner is still my favorite liquid eyeliner. It's easy to apply and I can easily replace it every few months or so for hygiene purposes(and because I tend to always lose it) because it's cheap. I actually have a separate tube for make-up gigs.
I learned applying liquid eyeliner with this product. And boy it took me a while! What about you? Have you mastered the art of applying liquid eyeliner?
