Satyamev Jayate

AYE. I know you people don’t really click links. Click this one. Please?

Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan’s latest display of

greatness. He addresses problems that are likely not new to you, but he puts faces to stories that are easier to disregard when they’re nameless, faceless statistics. We all love Aamir Khan and all that he does, but this show is exactly what someone with his media presence ought to be doing. Aamir Khan is worth all the adoration he’s given and then some. With Satyamev Jayate, he’s shedding light on major social ills that the average Indian may fall victim to or perpetuate. And by being Aamir Khan, people are more likely to stop and watch his show instead of the usual melodramatic dramas! Love it. Television doesn’t just have to be cheap entertainment. Be inspired, India! (i.e. South Asia; partition shouldn’t have happened and I’m going to wish it out of existence.)

Watch this first episode on female infanticide/foeticide. Or skip ahead to one of the others: child abuse, healthcare, or the dowry system. The show is available in Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Hindi with English subtitles.  Watch it now! Be moved, move others, and do big things :)

Cheers!
