Save Stitch!

Anyone who’s spent more than 3 second on my blog know that I have an English Bulldog, Shia. She is pretty much my entire world. A lot of work goes into being a good dog parent. Here are just a few of the things that Jared and I do for our baby dog, that most dog parents also do without complaint: When Shia eats too fast, we clean up her puke, we take her on walks every night to get out her energy and keep her healthy, we researched good food to feed her since she has allergies, we take her to the vet for all of her shots on time, we spoil her with toys and bones, we take her out to “doggy play dates” to socialize her, and just in general we fell in love with her. She is a member of our family, and we wouldn’t function the same without her. Lately I have been trying to expand our family by convincing my husband that my bully needs a frenchie brother. Last night I was on twitter and I saw a link, about rescuing a French Bulldog. After I clicked on the link I was brought to one of the most heart wrenching stories I have ever read about a Frenchie who wasn’t properly taken care of, he was neglected, left alone for days to dwell in his own waste, put in high stress situations where he was so overwhelmed he jumped out a window! Over all this poor frenchie, Stitch, was abused. I grabbed the below blurb from the website savestitch.webs.com and wanted to share with you Stitch’s story.Save Stitch!Save Stitch!StitchBall-2012-05-24-10-23.jpgSave Stitch!Stitchasleepheadphones-2012-05-24-10-23.jpgSave Stitch!100_0795.JPG-2012-05-24-10-23.jpgSave Stitch!
If you have a free minute please watch their youtube video, (below) where you can see photos and video clips of Stitch and his brother. The video threw me over the edge. I was laying on the bed with Shia. On the video Stitch is breathing heavy as Shia is doing the same thing passed out next to me. (Bulldog Trait) I started to bawl thinking about what the family is going through with just the thought of losing a member of their family, and putting him in an unstable unfit home.

When we adopted Shia she was 3 months old, and she’s now been with us for a year and half. This family has openly accepted and loved Stitch, he is a part of their FAMILY, not a piece of property! The fact that they could lose him, with the ruling of lost property angers me so much. How could the court rule in the favor of an unfit family, because they had him first? He wasn’t taken care of or loved in his first house, now for the first time in his life he has a family and a home. I am sure any fur mom would gladly give up most material things to keep their fur child in their family. If Shia was taken from me, I wouldn’t last. The fact that this family has been fighting with appeals to keep Stitch in their family for over 2 years is incredible and shows they deserve him. Yhey have REAL, TRUE, and GENUINE love for him. In the video, Stitch is lounging by the fireplace with his brother. The pup looks so incredibly happy, how could the court put him back into a home where he was neglected and abused?
PLEASE help save Stitch. On their website they have numerous ways to help including social media shout outs, court dates where you can show up and help support, donations to help with extensive court costs, and keep in mind any sharing of Stitch’s story is more than appreciated. Please help Stitch!!
