They are restoring the building exactly across the street from us. I would guess it is a 19th century brownstone, which has recently been gutted.
Today they put up the scaffolding -- a sort of giant erector set project
with the workers shinning up and down in a seemingly careless ballet, pole dance or gymnastics display.
There was something of the street theater about it
with an attentive audience.
