…See Double

Happy day after National Twins Day Weekend! Although, you probably know it better (and less affectionately) as Monday.

However, I’m choosing to ignore the Monday and focus on the Twins Day, because as you may or may not know I am a twin…as is the other half of the 2WC. As you might have guessed, neither of us are what I would call super-twiny, but I’m not going to let that stop me from celebrating  the day after Twins Day Weekend. And yes, you did read that correctly (both times), Twins Day is a weekend-long celebration.Even better, National Twins Day is not one, not two, but three days long. Before you start getting all weird about National Twins Day being more than one day, just step back. You do not want to get into a conversation with twins (or other multiples) about having to share one day…and the third day is for the triplets (sorry quadruplets…and up).

It’s not that we mind sharing, but sometimes that sharing is required, as if you’re one person, cohabitating two separate bodies.

I agree, it would be creepy if that’s how it worked. But as far as I know, most of us are two entirely separate people. I promise.

That doesn’t mean we don’t share a special bond. A shared face, shared childhood, and the shared experience of twinhood, creates an unbreakable bond. We may not always get along, but if you mess with one of us you’ve got a serious problem with both of us.

And to those who wonder what it’s like to have a twin, please refrain from asking. Much like you don’t have the experience of being a twin, most twins have never experienced not being a twin. But before I go, I will say that most of the time it’s pretty awesome.

…just for fun:
