I just ordered these 2 book on Couture sewing & embellishing techniques!! Im so Excited to get started creating this new collection, honestly, I could have bought half of the books on Amazon to help on my “In The Heat Of The Night” collection, which i hope to create partly by hand, partly by machine.
As a designer i think its vitally important to expand your knowledge, and being in the Fashion Capital of the world is one rude awakening. Living in Paris, the home of Haute couture, has shown me that I need to up my game and get serious about my work. I plan to learn as much as possible about hand sewing and embellishing, which is why I am not going to rush to be finished come this Autumns Fashion week.
Ive also been thinking a lot about doing more than just a photo-shoot. As I said; in this city you need to get out there as much as possible, and why put so much effort into a collection if the whole world wont see it? So im thinking of some kind of small fashion show…and i will be displaying this collection at the Vittel Fashion expo In 2012 hopefully :) xoxo LLM
