Seniors Day…

I don’t know why I can’t get it straight.

You know, the day that all the stores give seniors a great deal? I try to avoid it at all costs. Weekly.

Now I don’t know if I am the one having a senior moment, or if it is just always seniors day here.

I was sure that as a rule it was Wednesday. I am also equally as sure that today is Tuesday.

I was nearly taken out three times by a senior today. No kidding.

The first incident was an old man driving his Lexus, he was nearly in my lane for about 2 blocks, driving that fine line between being in his lane and mine, and then he randomly and suddenly veered over directly in front of me. If I hadn’t been on alert already, he would have smoked my truck. He never even looked at all before he changed lanes.

I then went to the grocery store to get cheese. That is all I needed, and was nearly annihilated by a lady with a shopping cart. She was going way too fast around a corner, looking the other way and didn’t even flinch at the fact that she nearly broke my freaking leg.

And then we have the lady in the motorized cart…these people are the scariest of all. Thankfully her children have obviously taken away her drivers license…at least I assumed that, as they were more than likely the people running to keep up to the crazy old lady doing about 60 km an hour through the aisles of Walmart. The displays at the end of the aisles must get wiped out about 15 times a day if today was any indication of what goes on, on a day to day basis.

Now don’t get me wrong here. Most of my favorite human beings are seniors, hell I am not far off from it myself.

But what exactly is it that goes on there? Why are old people out to get me?

It’s kind of like going shopping when a rave is going on, but it’s old people and not teenagers. Why don’t stores just give seniors a break every single day? Then they wouldn’t all go out at once with their weapons of total destruction.

Wouldn’t it just make sense?

Besides that, most seniors deserve a deal all the time. They lived through stuff way worse than we have, they raised our parents, hell, they raised US, who am I even kidding. Let’s just give them a break every day. I am thinking at this point, it is the best plan to keep us all safe and happy.

Who do we talk to about that? How do we go about convincing the big guys at the grocery stores and everywhere else that gives the old folks a deal, that everyday should be like Christmas for them? It is just a win win situation as far as I can tell.

It’s only going to get worse you know…there are only 38 days left until Christmas.

Then it’s not just the seniors that are out and about and driving everything that moves by feel. It’s everyone.

Awesome.

Be safe out there folks :)
