Today I wanted to share our Seven Month Favorites! Rilynn changes so quickly and so do the things that are "must haves" for our family. Six months, our big focus was everything related to starting solids and teething. Here are our top seven favorite things this month!
1// Tag Blanket & Teether: Although Rilynn still loves to chew, she is really into bright colors and different textures. My friend Jenny made the cutest carseat cover for us and I asked her if she could create something that would keep Rilynn busy while we drive around in the car. When we received the tag blanket with the teether ring, Rilynn fell in love! Jenny also sent an additional teether (which has gotten a ton of use) and I really like her fabric choices and the way she coordinated the tags to match.
2// Wood Elephant Rattle: Rilynn has also taken an interest in shaking things & also in new sounds. I didn't want to get her a plastic or metal rattle, so I began searching for a shop that created and all natural alternative. I love the state shaped rattles that Bannor Toys makes!!! I couldn't get a Florida one, so I chose this cute elephant instead. It's the perfect size for Rilynn to grab and she really likes the disks in the middle.
3// Baby Sling: Before Rilynn could sit on her own, our options when we went to the store were to bring in her stroller or carry her. She had already outgrown her newborn carseat and at 20-25lbs I just couldn't go for long periods of time holding her. My friend Angela told me that she was interested in starting a baby sling business and we worked together to find an awesome fabric for a sling. I wanted something that was somewhat fashionable and a cotton so I could use it during the summer. This sling is a total lifesaver! I wear Rilynn all the time - in the store, on walks, during church...It feels like it cuts her weight in half and she LOVES being snuggled up to me. I really like that anyone can use my sling (my mom and sister wear Rilynn too). I have this sling and an Ergo and this is just so much more compact and comfortable!
4// Latchy Catchy: Rilynn has become a master of waking up when I lay her down to nap. If it isn't the initial "crib drop", it's the door closing. I don't know why it took so long to think of something like this, but Latchy Catchy is awesome! You just slip it over both door knobs and the door closes and opens silently!! It works on every door we have tried and it is such a lifesaver for light sleepers (:
5// Reversible Leggings: In the process of moving, we didn't keep out very many items. I adore these leggings - they are REVERSIBLE!!!! I was able to pick out two gorgeous fabrics so Rilynn has two leggings in just one pair. You can also cuff the bottoms to see the other side if you want. We love the bright spring/summer colors and they are extremely high quality.
6// Pinstripe Shoes: I love me a good pair of moccasins. They stay on & are comfy. But as spring rolled around I wanted to get Rilynn a pair of shoes that was a little more "fancy". I designed these shoes with Lindsay and they are so precious. She hand makes each pair to match your little one's foot shape and length. They are one of a kind and I really like the detail she puts into each pair.
7// Pacifier Clip & Toy Strap: Rilynn's newest "skill" is throwing things. She throws her pacifier, her toys, her food and her bottles. I knew we needed a new pacifier clip and then I stumbled on Quinn and Lane - they make straps for toys and cups as well! The straps are awesome because you can put them around anything. We use them as a "Sophie leash" and also for her bottles and cups of juice. No more chasing things around the kitchen or when we are out at a restaurant. We need to order about five more.
Here's Rilynn over the past month using some of her favorite things!
