I used a youtube video to master using the actual sewing machine. You can find the video right here if you also need some help. I would thoroughly recommend it, it was by far the most helpful video I could find!
After I had mastered using my sewing machine, I searched the internet for 'basic projects for sewing machines'. I came across this website here which had a few simple projects for beginners, and I decided I would try to make the skirt. My mum, being as craft as she is, had everything I needed lying around the house so I grabbed myself some fabric and got making. Although it does say that it makes a skirt in a hour, it's taken me all morning to complete, but as the first thing I have ever made, I am absolutely thrilled!
