Create a Shabby Dorm Room Sign
Shabby Style Dorm Room Sign With school starting up quicker than we know it (the Summer has gone by fast!), it's also time for the dorms to open up and to start getting all of those last minute supplies. I always tried to make sure my dorm was full of my schools theme.
I was sent this awesome pack of permanent markers and asked to create something to share. I thought this would be a simple and fun way to incorporate decorating, and using the markers.
Being from Louisiana and receiving my degree from LSU, I am all about the purple and gold. (Don't hold it against me!) When I received the markers, I knew I wanted to do something fun with college in mind.
I was sent a pack of ultra fine tip markers, not the easiest thing to work with when you are creating something, but I was able to improvise. I grabbed a board from a craft store and began to create my shabby dorm sign. Once I drew out all of the letters with the fine tip black, I went with the standard purple and yellow (gold) for my LSU colors. It was a little difficult to color with the ultra fine tip, a thicker tip would have been easier, but I was able to finish it well. After I had completed the letters, I colored in the background with green. All complete!
It's a new addition with our other LSU themed items, and I am looking forward to breaking this out in a few short weeks when college football starts back up!
