Shine Bright

Posted on the 07 March 2013 by Gandbblog @GandBblog

I just wanted to write a short post for you today. I have been blogging and posting on my social media sites about my sweet preemie niece and the progress she was making the last few weeks. Yesterday, we received a call that she had passed at 10:36 a.m. She was just a month and a half old (gestational age was around 30 weeks). While we struggle to come up with the reasons why this happened, I have to remember that I am not in control of this life. We cannot determine the course of events in our life simply because we deem them unfair. I am not a mother, but I know that there are thousands of mothers who have endured this kind of unspeakable pain. I can only offer my empathy and support.
One thing I have learned through all of this, is that a mother's love for her child lives on. It does not pass away with her child. I know my sister in law was deeply saddened when she heard there was nothing more the doctors could do. The baby's name was Diamond, hence the title of this post. I don't mean the title to appear cliche (as much as I love Rhianna, this isn't about her). The meaning behind the title is that this baby's life will shine on in our hearts and we will always remember her. R.I.P. Baby Diamond Rayne (1/27/2013-3/6/13).
Thank you for your thoughts, concerns, and prayers! We all really appreciate it!
