One of my favorite things to splash out on is jewellrey - I am a sucker for anything shiny!!When Wills & Kate announced their engagement, the first thing I wanted to see was the engagement ring!
An oval blue sapphire surrounded by a cluster of 14 diamonds, the ring that William gave to Kate Middleton is among the most famous in the world.
His mother Diana chose it as her engagement ring in 1981 from a selection presented to her by the then Crown jewellers Garrard of Mayfair.
It cost £28,500 at the time and - although it was available for any member of the public to purchase - obviously not everyone could afford to buy it!
The large central stone is a 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire and the solitaire diamonds elegantly surrounding it are set in 18-carat white gold - it really is a beautiful ring and it's easy to see why Diana's choice, and now Kate's re-wearing of the ring, have sparked so many people to be on the hunt for a more affordable replica!
As sapphire is my own birth stone, I have always admired this ring and aspired to own one like it...
So when I was lucky enough to be allowed to choose a piece for review from TruDiamonds - I fell in love straight away with their beautiful Royal Engagement Ring
The ring arrived in a beautiful presentation box and came with a bottle of jewellrey cleaner
I was instantly struck by how real the stones looked and how sparkly and beautiful the piece was.
I don't think my photos truly do it justice, but the deepness of the blue is so stunning and the way the stones catch the light and twinkle is really something!You would never know that these are simulated diamonds from merely looking at the ring.
The Royal Engagement Ring is available HERE and costs just £139.00 - with an easy pay option of 3 installments of £46.33 it really is affordable for everybody!It comes in a choice of gold or platinum clad. I chose the platinum as I have never been much of a fan of yellow gold.
I absolutely adore this ring, it feels like something really special to wear.
