I’ve never heard of Shoppersville Bakeshop until a friend gifted us with their chocolate cake with yema filling for Christmas. Apparently, this bakeshop is famous with people from the “North” and this chocolate cake is their specialty.
I like the combination of chocolate and yema and it could have been a great cake, BUT, the chocolate cake was just ordinary with a crumbly texture while the yema albeit yummy had a grainy and lumpy texture.
Sayang! Must be from a bad batch lang siguro or Lori of DCF would not include it on her Top 5 Chocolate Cakes in Manila list.
I would love to give this cake another try and I’m hoping it would wow me the next time.
