Sideways and Horizontal

I used to get sick. All. The. Time.
Not just with a simple cold, but long, drawn-out episodes of bronchitis that required inhalers and pretty strong meds to keep me breathing.
Back aches? Nope.  I get sciatica.
PMS?  Nope. I hemorrhage instead.
Any who, you get the gist of my lovely health.
Thank God for acupuncture and a few other "things" I do throughout the year to prevent another week out of commission.
Not counting my lifelong battle with Hashimotos and Hypothyroidism, I'm OK.  Not healthy, but OK.
But then this weekend I had the idea - actually - I was forced to look for paperwork (need I remind you that I moved my full-time office to my home office), and well, that started a long chain of events.
Box's that haven't seen the light of day since 2008 had to be taken out.  Paperwork that I swore was lost, was found. What I swore I had, was lost...
I found old pictures, some that brought some pretty nice memories (more to that in a future blog post), I also found a lot of crap, old stuff (vintage, maybe?), hidden money, stuff to sell, and dust...lots and lots of dust.
It didn't matter how well protected stuff was, dust accumulated.

This was me for 95% of Monday...notice Princess Maya laying down next to me

Breathing-in that stuff for a couple of days did nothing more than irritate my skin, helped me develop a coughing fit, and eventually, a full blown summer flu...
Complete with aches, pains, coughing, snoring, wheezing, dry skin, and breakouts.
Oh. The. Joy.

The one positive on all this was finding out that stored "stuff" is worth more when selling it (Craigslist anyone?), that I am a better organizer than anyone else I paid to do it for me (don't ask!), and that Princess Maya has found a big, big space in my heart.
How could she not? Knowing I could barely keep my head above my blankets (In 75 degree weather!), Maya laid faithfully on my side...waiting for most of the day to be taken down to the bathroom.  When she did, she immediately returned to lay down next to me.  Hunger be gone - protecting me was her utmost priority!
Dust, coughing, and flu aside...Can I just tell you how hard I fell in love with my girl?!
