Rilynn has started to be very vocal over the past week. Besides her usually grunts and mini cries, she now will coo and act like she is talking to us. She smiles and laughs and follows us around with her eyes. She is eating a lot more - if I have pumped milk she will usually still be hungry after a 5oz bottle. Up until this past week, she usually wouldn't even finish 4oz. Thank you again for all your advice on increasing your breastmilk supply! Things have been going great and I think the fenugreek really helped!
Another big accomplishment was that we finally tried cloth diapers! Our original plan was to wait until she was 3 months old, but after we found ourselves spending close to $100 a month on diapers, I knew I wanted to try it now. It is so much easier than I thought it would be. Honestly, I was really excited to try cloth, but once all my diapers arrived and I prepped them, I felt really scared about actually using them. I'm here to tell you that they are just as easy as disposables. And washing them is no big deal - unless you turn it into one.
I will be starting a cloth diaper series next week! I'm planning to cover everything I've learned so far and share our cloth diapering system. When I was pregnant I researched for literally hundreds of hours. Everything from building a stash to wash routines. Since so many of you have emailed me with questions, I figured it would make a good series on the blog.
Besides that, we have been spending time around the house a lot. Ryan has been job searching, but it has been really nice to be together as a family so much!
Here is what we have been up to this week:
setting up the porch for trick or treaters
our little fsu fan - in a milk coma
halftime snack
diving into cloth diapering
dad was finally able to make miss grumpypants smile
our ergo makes things so much easier around the house
ryan's idea of "bonding"
Lastly, this is the bracelet I designed! I wanted to find something that I could have for each one of my children. I worked with an Etsy shop, River Valley Designs, to create this beautiful thin gold bangle. The center front has the coordinates of where she was born, her name is on the outside back and her birth date is on the inside. I love how it turned out and I think it is a really special way to remember each of my future kids.
