I love the Christmas season! It's an excuse to make Christmas cookies and wear ugly red sweaters with a big Christmas tree on it, which I don't have but wish I did! One of my favorite kinds of Christmas cookies are the snow ball cookies! I wanted to make those today, so I found a recipe online. I could have used my mom's, but I wanted to try something new :) And these are pretty smackin' amazing! I found them from a website called Christmas-Cookies.com and their snow ball cookies are wonderful!
So here is what you'll need... ~1/2 cup powdered sugar ~1/4 teaspoon salt ~1 cup butter, softened ~1 teaspoon vanilla extract ~2 1/4 cup flour ~and additional powdered sugar for rolling the cookies in later :) Preheat the oven to 400.Get out a pan, and set aside....Start by creaming the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla together...(In my order.... powdered sugar, vanilla and then the butter)
UGH, my camera makes the butter look really yellow and gross, but it's not how it is!
Now add in the flour and a pinch of salt :) You don't need much salt.
Now mix it all together :)
Knead it if you have to...
Now chill in the fridge for ONE HOUR! Then remove... of course...
Now, take the pan, and the dough and shape the dough into little 1 inch balls. Set on the pan :)
Bake for 8 minutes. DON'T let the tops of the cookies brown. The base of the cookies might, like the part that is touching the pan (the bottom of the cookie) but that's fine :)
Remove and let cool, then roll the cookies in powdered sugar :)
Put them in a cute Mason Jar for a cookie exchange or for a gift :) or just eat them!
YUM!!!
