Spanish Wines In Los Angeles

In Los Angeles is quite common to order California wine with dinner.  Drink California wine at happy hour, and yes, build a small cellar, of sorts, with a few of our favorites.  Mostly because it's priced right.
Spanish wine, although appealing, tends to a be a bit, well, foreign for our So Cal palates and assumed at a higher price point.
It was with that initial preconceived notion that I attended the first Wines from Castilla La Mancha tour stop at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills this summer.
Coupled with an extraordinarily informative private wine seminar with renowned wine educator, consultant and writer of the Wine Bible, Karen MacNeil, my afternoon included tastings from Spanish wineries that were new to the States, to others that had broader distribution in the East Coast but unavailable to Angelinos.
My favorites included:
Red
Yuntero Tinto
Castilla de Almansa Reserva 2009
White
Verum White
Mundo de Yuntero Airen
Dessert
Bogarve 1915
These are few photos of the event and some of my favorite wines that I hope find distribution at my local wine shops soon; and of the amazing food the Bazaar by Jose Andres catered for the afternoon.
