…spend a Little Time

As you may have heard, a little show on FX made its debut yesterday. And one episode in, "Fosse/Verdon" is the stuff of theater lovers' dreams. "Sweet Charity" and "Cabaret" and Sondheim, oh my. The musical theater history (and present) name dropping that happened in the first ten minutes was out of this world...

Needless to say, I have zero chill where "Fosse/Verdon" is concerned. So, this What to Watch Wednesday let's talk about why you should check out this show. Right. Now.

Gwen Verdon (Michelle Williams). Her last name may be second in the title, but it's pretty clear she's the first one to step up and make things happen (especially when the integrity of a gorilla suit is involved).

And, guys, I think this show might actually just be about how awesome Gwen Verdon was (because she was AWESOME).

In fact, I suspect (call it a well-informed hunch) when all is said and done, we're not going to like the first half of this dynamic duo very much. Fosse's choreography is iconic, but this story goes well beyond the dance moves, memorable as they may be.

Regardless of where this show takes us, one thing is infinitely clear, Michelle Williams will be getting all the nominations. All. Of. Them. And it's going to be one heck of a dance...

...bi-daily smile...

The precision with which they matched this scene is uncanny...
