With the end of 2012 quickly approaching, it seems that all the news is about the “cliff.”
True, it’s a nice break from the usual parade of top 10 lists (although, they seem to still have time for those).
But all this non-stop talk about going over the edge can drive you a little crazy.
So this Saturday, as an alternative to the “fiscal cliff,” I give you the impending “dairy cliff.”
…I’ll give you a moment to chuckle at the thought of suicidal dairy cows…
It may sound like a non-issue, after all, it doesn’t have “fiscal” in its title so it can’t be too important.
I won’t bore you with too many details, but basically what it boils down to is that those of us who aren’t lactose intolerant, could be spending a lot more on our daily dose of calcium come January. You’ll be hearing a lot more about the “dairy cliff” when you’re paying $8 for a gallon of milk.
Of course, if the dairy and fiscal “cliffs” aren’t resolved…well, 2013 might not be the “happiest” of new years.
Here’s hoping our elected representatives can get a moove on (I had to get one in), and resolve both of these issues.
