Stanley Cup: It's Only the Beginning

Hockey season has been over for me for some time now. I work for the Phoenix Coyotes, and our last game of this season was April 26th. Last night was the first night of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It was exactly 5 months after the lockout officially ended. Did know hockey was in a lockout and lost 510 games? Consider yourself lucky!
Don't know what the Stanley Cup is? It's the Championship trophy given to the winner of the playoffs. The trophy is named after the Lord Stanley of Preston. One of my favorite things about the Stanley Cup is every player and coach on the winning is engraved on the trophy. When the bottom band is filled, they take off the oldest band and put it in the NHL Hall of Fame. Each band can fit 13 winning teams.
This year the 2 teams completing for the Stanley Cup are Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins. This is the first time since 1978-1979 season that 2 teams of the Original Six. The original Six are: Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, NY Rangers, Detroit RedWings, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Montreal Canadians.
Last nights game was crazy!! They practically played 2 games last night. It went to the third overtime before a winner was decided. I watched the game on and off last night. When I watched it in the second period it was 3-1 Bruins. Next time I turned it back it was 3-3 in the third period. Then overtime occurs another 20 minute period followed by 20 intermission. It was almost 10 pacific time before a winner was announced. That's midnight in the central. It's actually the 5 longest Stanley Cup game.
