Often mocked and used to enforce ridiculous rules (most often not even true) Health & Safety needs to be taken seriously and employers are required by UK law to uphold legislation and have a duty to their employees. Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Often referred to as HASAW or HSW, this Act of Parliament is the main piece of UK health and safety legislation. It places a duty on all employers "to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the healthsafety and welfare at work" of all their employees.

All UK employees are required by law to undertake some Health & Safety training and show understanding within the workplace; to gain your NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Health & Safety certificate you must complete an exam which covers an extensive 120 hours of study!

NEBOSH Certificate Courses get you ready for the responsibility of having your employees, colleagues and your very own safety in your hands.

SHEilds is a NEBOSH Health & Safety training provider and since 2002 has become one of the largest in the UK; Offering elearning courses, specialising in Health, Safety and Environmental qualifications.

They have produced a 'cheat sheet' to help with study and making sure you gain your qualification first time!
