Staying "Connected"

Posted on the 22 May 2012 by Brenda @PibblesNHeathen
The longer I'm on my journey, the more secure I feel in what I believe in and what I don't. It may not be text book because it follows none. It is simply what I make of it and what I get out of it.

Staying

(See my triple moon goddess necklace?)

My heart, soul, and beliefs were found amongst the Norse Gods and Goddesses. Asatru or Heathen you may call me. But yet, I am not 100% Heathen. The more in touch I get with Nature, the more my heart opens up. I believe in the Triple Moon Goddesses (Maiden, Mother, Crone). I like the symbolism of the triple moons. Does this make me Eclectic Heathen? I'm not sure and really, do I need to place a label upon myself? No. I am who I chose to be and do not need to answer my beliefs to anyone. My path is that of my own.
Routines have begun. I wake up in the morning and give a quick "shout out" to my Gods and Goddesses for another day of breath. Another day of fighting ignorance against pit bull and pagan haters. Haters are they? No, I truly believe they just don't "understand". Understand what? Understand exactly what a "pit bull" and a "pagan" is. There is a world of ignorance and I'm determined to share my wisdom and try and change a least, one person's view.
On the weekends, in the early morning hours, I try to go outside and gaze into the wood. Stare into the sky. Not looking for the "heavens" but looking towards the Sun. I give thanks.
In the evenings after dinner and all is finished, thanks to my hubs for building me and my Titan such a lovely deck, I go out and reflect on my day. Again, staring into the woods (it changes every day). Quiet time is essential. No, I'm not doing any rituals nor meditation, just quiet reflection time. Yet, I do talk to my Gods and Goddesses during this time. Matter of fact, my boy is usually sitting next to me just gazing into the greenery as well.
I'm really getting "back in touch" with Nature and am feeling good about it. I have a different outlook on life and feel much more at ease. I am less judgmental and more open minded. I am a better person today, than I was a year ago and I have to thank my journey and my path for this. Being free to make your own path, is truly liberating.
Do you have daily routines in which you talk to your Gods and/or Goddesses?
