Around 22 years ago, One of my uncles met with a life threatening accident. It was one of a kind case at that time and none of the hospitals were ready to treat him and it resulted him in going into Coma for a month and later on resulted in a partial memory loss…all this happened because when my uncle met with an accident nobody stopped to help him, and by the time he was taken to the trauma center he had lost to much blood due to his head injury.
I was only 3 or 4 years old when this incident happened but I still have clear memories of my aunt and the whole family crying inconsolably. My aunt went through hell during the whole time…she stayed at the hospital for nearly 6 months with my uncle all because nobody bothered to stop and help him when the bus ran over him...Remembering all this still gives me goose bumps and from that day onwards I have seen my whole family stopping over to help others especially my aunt. She stops when ever she sees a person in need no matter what sort of need..be it a blind person waiting to cross the road, or an old lady fighting to climb the stairs or a person who has just met with an accident…she makes it a point to get the person the required help at that very moment.
Its been so many years and still my family hasn't been really able to move on from that incident and our lives have changed from that day onwards. It breaks my heart to think how people at times become so heartless and choose to ignore situations like this. But over the years whatever I have seen and whatever my family has went through has made me a stronger person and has taught me to help others who are in need, there is no other work more important then a person lying on the road in a pool of blood.
Now we as a family : Stop, Help and Encourage others to do the Right Thing.
