Combining comfort with style - My way
I never imagined that I would ever sit here and write anything with the word 'style' in the title.
I'm the girl that at 14 years old and probably a dress size 6, if not lower, used to wear dress sizes sometimes three sizes up from what I should have actually been wearing, purely because they felt so much more comfortable.
I'm the girl who would rush home from being at school or at work or out with friends, throw my clothes off and jump right into the most snuggly pajamas in my drawer. And then snuggle myself into an over sized, usually my Mums, dressing gown and then of course cosy my feet into none other than my somewhat battered, torn but heavenly slippers.
I'm the girl that to this day, very rarely wears a bra and not just because I don't possess very much to put into one.
I'm the girl who chooses comfort over what the magazines and the television tell me 'is in' right now.
So no, being the girl that I am, I never thought I'd write a post on style. But here I am.
Every Sunday I have decided that I am going to post my favorite comfortable outfit/clothes that I've worn and loved some time that week. I want to prove, mostly to myself, that you can be stylish and still be comfortable.
If you'd like to join in with me too, then please do. I would love to see what sort of outfits people who feel similar to myself opt for.
The outfit I'm wearing in todays post is really simple. My white skirt is from New Look and my top is from Primark. As you can see the top is actuallty a little see-through so if I was going out somewhere I'd just pop a vest top on underneath. On hindsight it would probably have been a very good idea to have put one on before taking the photographs - but hey! It's only a bra!
For shoes I've opted for gray coloured flats or ballet pumps as they're sometimes known. For a more formal look or evening wear, I would probably just add a pair of very low heeled shoes, which would transform my outfit choice from day to evening without losing too much comfort.
I hope that they're some people who might find this sort of thing interesting. I know that so many women are heavily into their fashion and don't mind losing some comfort to gain style. But for those of you who are like me and always put comfort first, I hope you will enjoy these weekly posts.
Note: I am not usually so messy! I was in the middle of packing for a holiday when I had this idea very randomly pop into my head. And I then decided that rather then wait, write it down and take photos later on when I wasn't so busy that I'd go ahead and do it there and then!!
