Summer Wishlist - Maxi Dresses Under £30

Posted on the 13 June 2012 by Accordingtoamber @sgwennu
The maxi dress is summer's version of the LBD. You need one in you wardrobe. Not only are they cool, easy to throw on and simple to accessorize, the length covers all our lazy winter sins.

Being a girl on a budget, as much as I may enjoy lusting away for hours on net-a-porter, I probably would never spend more than about £30 on a maxi dress. And that's pushing the boat out. I was going to say £40 but I honestly wouldn't spend that much unless it was something really special.

Maxi Dresses
Starting left to right...
Navy Feather Print Maxi Dress - River Island, £25
This is just so lovely in the flesh (in the material? I don't know...) I'm also really enjoying all the Aztec prints that are in fashion right now, so this feather print is perfect.
Multi Coloured Bandeau Maxi Dress - Debenhams, £29.99
I don't usually go for very bright dresses, but this caught my eye, and for only £30 I think it's a well needed pop of color.
Crafted Embellished Feather Maxi Dress - Republic, £40
This is the priciest dress of them all, and breaks my budget by a tenner. Oh dear.
But it's the one I love the most, so I had to chuck this into the mix. The fabric is stunning, it's loose and languid. Have you seen the collar?!
I could shmooze on and on about how much I love this dress for ages - instead I'm just going to go buy it instead. Lush.
Cream Print Chelsea Girl Maxi Dress - River Island, £30
This is more of an autumn coloured dress in my opinion, but I really love the autumnal color palate so I'm not complaining. It's certainly very bohemian too and I think would look great at a festival - if you can't find one without any mud to ruin it with that is!
Green&Cream&Coral Leaf Print Maxi Dress - Debenhams, £29.99
The was Debenhams have names this dress confused me greatly. Too much listing colours, when it's just so beautiful and soft.
Grey Print Waisted Maxi Dress - River Island, £25
Another River Island steal at £25. Can you see a pattern of aztec prints emerging here?!

Navy Slub Tee Maxi Dress - New Look, £16.99
This might stand out as being really basic and boring even, against all my wild and wonderful prints, but I think this a clear case of less is more. Whilst it's very casual, you could also very easily make it a bit classier with some heels and an up-do.

Floral Print Slinky Maxi Dress - New Look, £24.99
I lied earlier, I think this is actually my favorite. For obvious, floral reasons.
Parisian White Floral Dipped Hem Maxi - New Look, £22.99
This one comes in quite a few different color options too which I think is great. I also adore the back. I have a think for detailed backs on dresses I think...Maxi
(I can't find the white one again to save my life)//Rose Print Dress// Orange Print Dress // Ombre Maxi Dress // Teal BandeauIf money were no object however - then these would certainly be my picks from Miss Selfridge. I would buy all of them. I'm having a bit of a love affair with their website at the moment, I honestly can't drag myself away from it!
Now, let's all pray that the summer sunshine will come and visit us again in the UK sometime soon so we can actually wear a blessed maxi dress without getting drenched. I hope this post had whetted your taste for some maxi-dress bargain hunting!
Have you spotted anything that tempts you?
