Sunday Funday: Reedy Creek

Reedy Creek

When E and I first transitioned into traditional work week schedules, Sundays quickly became our favorite day of the week. It's the only day of the week we are almost-guaranteed to spend it fully together, and even though chores need doing and errands need running, we've incorporated Sunday rituals so we always have something to look forward to. We get bagels in the morning (a childhood tradition of mine) and, when the weather is nice, we go for a hike in the early afternoon.

This Sunday, we went to Reedy Creek for the second time. The first time we hiked the cross-country trail which was nice but rather short, but this week we did the 4 mile greenway and it was much more to our liking. The first couple miles are on a straight path through the Reedy Creek Fields and look right out of a movie set. The second half of the hike loops into the woods and was stunning in the fall.

Check out my weekly Sunday Funday posts if you're local and love the great outdoors, or be encouranged to go exploring in your own area.

tree paintings At one point in the trail we started to see these hand painted signs hanging randomly on trees. Wise quotes by Dr. Seuss and Winnie the Pooh.
