Taken Back

The sun beats down on her freckled face
as she swings back and forth…
she’s taken to another place.
It’s five years ago and her future is bright
there is only hope in her heart, no fright…
swinging more she’s taken back.
It’s ten years ago her knees are scraped
but no heartache, only bones to break…
swinging more she’s taken back.
It’s twenty years ago, so innocent and young
only if she could stay this way…
but the sun fades.
Back to reality, back to broken dreams
heartache and a wretched soul…
at twenty five she has no where to go.
