Putting the Toys to the Test
Ben has definitely been putting these TMNT products to the test. The first night he got them he begged me to let him sleep in the Turtle Shell but thankfully I managed to persuade him it wasn't such a good idea especially as he likes to sleep on his back and he snuggled up to Mike, his Practice Pal instead. It did make me laugh when I went to check on him later that night and was greeted by "This is epic!" as he had accidentally hit Michelangelo in his sleep. The Nunchucks have also gone down a treat, they slot into hoops on the Turtle Shell which Ben thought was very cool and in his own words, make him "just like a Ninja Turtle". The fact the weapons are made of foam is a definite win as he swings them around quite a lot and has managed to bonk himself a few times but has thankfully avoiding doing any damage. I have a feeling he would really like the swords so may have to get hold of a set for him at some stage too.
The Practice Pal is a great idea as it allows children to use the weapons and be in "ninja training" mode, acting out the scenes on the show, hitting the plush toy just as you would focus pads or a punch bag in martial arts. Like all the TMNT toys, the Pal is robust, well made and up to the rough and tumble play you would expect from boys and girls aged 4+ so prefect for role play which they love so much at that age.
