A wet Saturday morning -- the building slightly grim --
Westbeth on Bank Street to see my Blogstock chum Karen Cole take part in a panel about Seth Apter's new book: The Pulse of Mixed Media --Secrets and Passions of 100 Artists Revealed. Karen was one of six featured artists.
Karen was the first to speak about her paintings and mixed media assemblages (She's the one who makes me haunt horrible flea markets looking for 'treasures' to include).
This is her hand gesticulating enthusiastically on the right....(Seth on the left) such almost palpable energy in the room.
General consensus: art is an obsession and we are all quite nuts and creativity is tremendous fun. The book is full of wonderful observations about art by practicing artists. (Here some of Danny Gregory's notebooks). 
The building grim and gulag-y and rather nice.
