Yep, there's been an insane amount of negativity in blogland over the past few months.
When you start your blog, you never consider this side of the community. I know at least I didn't. I saw blogging as an amazing place to meet other women with common thoughts and ideas. I wanted to make friends.
For you who just see all of these posts on blogs talking about the "dark side" of the blogosphere, but have no personal experience with it - count yourself oh so blessed. You probably wonder if bloggers have so many problems or so much negativity coming there way, why they would even choose to blog anymore...
Well that is what I wanted to write about in this post today. Yeah, there are some crappy things that come along with blogging and putting yourself out there, but I continue to blog because the positives far outweigh the negatives.
Do you know how many amazing women I have come in contact with since I started Wifessionals? There are days I turn on my computer, so defeated or so sad, and then an email is waiting for me that completely turns my attitude around. You ladies have been such an incredible blessing to me and my life.
So right now, I want to bring encouragement to some of the women who brighten my life. There are so many hundreds of you that you can't all be listed in this one post, but I think it is SO NECESSARY amidst the debbie downer posts that have been flying around this week to bring out the beauty in blogging. I want to lift you ladies up and say "thank you" because you deserve to know that you make blogging worth it to me.
You may have no idea that I appreciate you...and you sure as heck didn't know I was writing this....but I love you. Keep encouraging, keep shining, keep blessing others the way you have blessed me.
Jana, you are one of the biggest encouragers I have ever come across. You send me random emails just giving me a virtual hug or writing heartfelt thoughts about something I post. You are by far one of the sweetest, most genuine people I have met through blogging and you continually bless my heart.
Amberly
Amberly, I don't even remember how you came into my life. Your heart for love and marriage is so sweet and I love that you encourage other women in their personal relationships. You are a wonderful wife to your husband and a great example of how to work and nurture a marriage.
Miss Mallory, from the day you first emailed me asking me about Colorado, telling me you were going to move out here and join me, I fell in love. You are so funny and I am so out of my mind excited that I will get to be real life friends with you in a few months.
Stephanie
Stephanie - You have been one of the most genuinely happy people for me during this pregnancy. I remember sharing our pregnancy secrets early on before the blog knew...and now we know we are having little girls together! You have been so kind, checked up with me and just encouraged me through everything.
Kristyn, what an incredibly sweet spirit you have. Always so positive. You are also the first to ask for blog help and are so appreciative when other are willing to give you tips and tricks. I can't even really explain it, but from the moment we started talking, all I could think of was one word: genuine.
Beth, you are a recent find. I cannot tell you how much respect I have for you. You blew me away when you emailed me, wanting to make sure you hadn't stepped on my toes over an issue. You completely encompass what women should be like in the blogging world. You show that you respect other bloggers enough that you will talk to them and approach issues head on...rather than gossip or deal with things immaturely. I think you are amazing and you have an enormous amount of adoration and love from me.
Becca
Becca, you are another one of those women who will email just to encourage me. But what I love even more is that you have emailed me in the past to tell me you didn't agree with something I wrote. Your truthfulness has been a blessing and I know that is why our friendship continues to grow. Your raw honesty is refreshing and I know that we can chat about anything without feelings being hurt.
Marquis, I laugh when I even say your name. The only thing that comes to mind when I think about you is joyfulness. I remember when you first started linking up to 30 Second Thursdays. You never ceased to brighten my day. You are another friend who is always so genuinely happy for anything going on in others' lives. You are also an amazing example of a wonderful and supportive wife.
Brittany, I've known you awhile...but getting to video chat last month made me feel like I had the chance to REALLY get to know you. I so appreciate your prayers for our little one and I know in my heart that if we lived near each other we would be great friends.
