If you're having a marquee or outdoor wedding, there's nothing more fun than a few garden games. Sometimes, though, you need a bit more room... as was the case with this fabulous marquee wedding in Somerset, where their games required the use of a particularly large field!
I've seen many different kinds of outdoor games used as entertainment at weddings. There are the often-seen, such as boules, hoopla, pinata, and so on... and the less often seen, such as this particularly energetic game of welly wanging! The male guests in particular found that it brought out their competitive side - although there were quite a few female guests who kicked off their shoes and had a go, too - just as they should.
As a wedding photographer, getting right in there to shoot this game of welly wanging was a rather dangerous venture - I nearly got hit with the welly more than once! - but definitely worth it once I'd seen the results. Weddings aren't just about love and romance and all that jazz. They're also about having a grand old time, in many different ways. So get yourself a welly, and a large open space, some guests and some alcohol - and I promise you won't regret it!
