The Contentment Challenge - September Goals - First Month

Posted on the 17 September 2018 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson

I have been wanting to do this challenge for a while. It wasn't until recently that I felt convicted to this. I also KNEW that I had to put this online for accountability. Lately I have been really bad about follow through.
Each month will be a theme, major task, verse, and goals to accomplish each month. If you want to see more on My Contentment journey this is the beginning post.
Theme: Eliminate
The first month of this challenge is that I want to eliminate things around the house. This is perfect timing because the season is winding down and Gary is home on the weekends. We have both mentioned that we wanted to get rid of some things. So I bet out it will happen on Saturday during college football game commercials.
Task: Declutter and deep clean the entire apartment.
This works out great because its the end of the season so Gary will be home to help. Also our lease is through the end of September but we haven't decided if we are going to stay or not.
Last time we declutter we played the game where we picked a random number and far fetched number. I think it was 257 items that we wanted to get rid of. We counted every item so if got rid of 10 towels it was 10 items. It was pretty interesting to see how quickly we got that number. Also we recently helped a friend move and I love them both BUT dang they had a lot of stuff. When it comes time for us to move I want to be quick and not a big UHAUL truck either.
Verse: 1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is a great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
Goals:
read one book - The Miracle Morning
run 1 mile per day
document food through MyFitnessPal
168 hours documentation
