The Day After the Night Before…

Posted on the 28 September 2011 by Redneckprincess @RdNeckPrincess

Good afternoon…I was going to try and get a post off late last night or this morning, didn’t happen. The Keith Urban concert was absolutely beyond amazing. Beyond anything I remember from last time or expected at all…

The boy can rock and roll, and he has charisma enough for 10 normal men. No offense boys.

I didn’t take a camera with me, mine is too big and I really didn’t want to spend all my time taking pictures and actually missing out on the concert itself. The choice was a good one. Hannah and Jessica both took pics so I should have some to post in the next couple of days.

The rest of the trip over was fairly smoooth, there were no traffic incidents and the meeting of the friends. We hooked up in Maple Ridge and off we went.

We had a fairly humorous A&W experience trying to order our on the run meal…the boy was NOT understanding us and vice versa, finally after much giggling and messing with him, we got our order handled. Only to be told we would have to pull over and wait a minute for everything to be ready.

Now this boy obviously didn’t understand there were 4 girls that were on their way to a KU concert, and we wanted to get GOING…ok, that was just me and Fay, the younger girls were far more patient. Finally we get our food and off we go!!!

We didn’t get lost or have any crazy happenings on the way, we found parking super easily, even though it cost us $25 for the 5 hour visit…I am totally in the wrong business obviously.

Our seats were awesome, on the back of the floor, but the stadium is set up pretty well, and we knew there would be a big screen where we could see Keith up close and personal. We weren’t dissappointed at ALL!!! The opening band were called The Band Perry, they were pretty good and the wee thing of a lead singer was energizing and got the crowd ready to go…

And then came Keith.

The day after the night before…

He came out, he charmed us, he sang to us out for nearly three hours straight. He walked through the audience, about two feet away from us, he sang in the middle of the arena, about 15 feet away from us, he brought people up on the stage, he made them sing…he let one girl sit backstage and watch from there because she had a cool sign…he gave a girl a guitar.

He sang his heart out, and so did we. The thing about going to a Keith concert, is that everyone sings, every song, every word…it is the most amazing energy that I have ever been a part of.

He talked to us about the economy and how hard it was for people to make ends  meet, and how much he appreciated that we picked him to spend our money on…

You know what??? It was the best $100 I have ever spent on a ticket…without a doubt. And I have been to some pretty awesome concerts. I would go again tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that.

The fact that I am deeply in love with him doesn’t even have any bearing on that, really…

So then, you think awesome right?? He puts on a show, well hell ya, but then…..

He screams at the top of his lungs, “Go Canucks Go!!!”  And low and behold, there is a Sedin brother sitting in the audience. There was hubub earlier in the night, but we never really saw who the fuss was all about!! It was a pretty cool Vancouver moment, you could tell that we are pretty avid fans, of both Keith and the Canucks…

But the fun was not over by a long shot, when you least expect it…he tells us that a friend of his is shooting a movie in Vancouver and decided to come on by and sing a song…

The last Keith concert I was at Chad Kroeger from Nickelback was sitting three or four rows down from me, and he got up and sang a CCR song with Keith…awesomeness at its finest…

The day after the night before…Last night, it was Russel Crowe, I shit you not, and the boy can SING, he sang Johnny Cash’s song Folsom Prison and then came back out later and sang a duet with Keith…

Amazing, yes.

They finally finished up at about 11:00…

Of course, there was an encore…

We screamed, we yelled, we whistled and we clapped.

Once again the band took the stage, a ballet was sung with Keith all alone, we all had tears in our eyes and helped it sing it all the way through…

The band came back out and we were rocked til the end, these boys love what they do and it shows in every single way.

The concert was a hardcore two and a half hours, full out the whole time. No one left let down, and not one person didn’t have a huge grin on their face when it was all over…

It was a party to remember…today my throat hurts from singing too loud, my ears are still ringing, and I have a Keith hangover that I never want to go away…

But until next time, we will hold on to the fun, the memories and the music…

That is what showmanship is all about. That is why he is who he is, and why we love him. Even if you don’t like country music, you have to give him credit for being an amazing musician, with over the top guitar playing skills. On top of all that, he seems to be a really great guy, who deserves his fame, his fortune and his fans admiration…

He certainly felt that last night, and we totally felt the love he is giving us back.

So thanks Keith, for bringing some sunshine into our lives, if only for a couple of rocking hours, I will sing your songs louder and be an even prouder fan that I already was…

You rocked us last night and made us all fall a little more head over heels!!!!

The day after the night before…
