The First Cut is the Deepest, #887

Owwww!!!  I cut myself slicing an avocado yesterday.  I was holding it in my hand and sliced right through the peel and into my fingers.  It’s amazing how one big cut can suddenly turn me into a complete baby.  I really fought going to Urgent Care, but when the bleeding wouldn’t stop an 1-1/2 later, I finally resigned.

I was fortunate.  I didn’t need stitches.  It was a borderline case and fortunately was right above my joint, so instead, they put something called surgical foam on it.  Supposedly it will dissolve over the next 5ish days, and I’ll be as good as new in no time.

It was such an eventful day yesterday with this cut, and when I look at the whole day, it is definitely all I can think of.  I know there is nothing profound or earth shattering about this blog except for the fact that one tiny slip up can change the course of a day dramatically.

So with that, I dedicate my song of the day today to my little battle wound.  The song that popped into my head is Sheryl Crow singing “The First Cut is the Deepest.”  Click HERE to listen, and I swear to all of you….I’m not cutting anything today.  Today will be uneventful, and I will make certain of it.
