Every year, around this time, a certain movie appears on television. It has a great soundtrack, and actors I love to watch. If you haven’t seen The Holiday, then you don’t know what I am talking about. It opens with Jack Black writing a love score to a movie scene, then moves to the narrators voice talking about love. Two women have horribly bad luck in love and wind up exchanging homes. I thought that the cottage scene was absolutely stunning, so I looked it up. Sadly, it doesn’t exist. Oh, the town’s there, but the house was only a movie prop.
The village is known as Shere, Surrey in beautiful England. Apparently, the home used for yummy, I mean umm, Jude Law, is a real home known as the Mill House in Wonersh, Surrey. Here is the trailer:
“It is difficult to know at what moment love begins; it is less difficult to know that it has begun.” ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
