The Human Mind.

Posted on the 19 July 2013 by Nasehamushtaq

As complex and convoluted as it used to look back in elementary school when we studied and visualized it for the first time in our lives, we never expected the working of the human mind to be as complicated or even more so.

There are people who classify life to be very fulfilling and relaxing, but how many of them do we see walking around without any trouble whatsoever? Even those who claim such stuff are not completely satisfied with their lives with the exception of a rare few- and to my utter astonishment, one of those rare few being Nick Vujicic, a man with no arms and no legs but with amazing accomplishments! The happiest man on Earth! This is the kind of situation in which I find the working of our mind the most insanely different from all!

The way prospects and views differ from person to person- the fact that there are some people who admit their mistakes in contrast to those who don’t, how beliefs vary from one person to another, how some get influenced easily by the company they spend time with and how some stay rooted to the ground, how you don’t like people for no reason at all and how you like some people even if they don’t like you.

When we’re young and in schools with protective teachers and parents to guide us through difficult times, most of us develop strong associations with comrades and friends whom we’ve studied with since kindergarten. So, we naturally are friends with them only, spend a lot of time with them and don’t have a chance of exploring what other people are like. As we move through colleges and finally to universities, our social circle gets widened and we come across a mob of different personalities, religions, castes, infrastructures and what not.

Now I wouldn’t go into the argument that whether or not it is easy to deal with these people. I’m merely pointing out that if you are one of those who have spent even two years at a university or college, you’ll find out that you can not classify anybody into the “good” or “bad” category. The person who’s bad for you, might be the source of  joy for others or even the one who is good with you, might be simply horrible with somebody else. It’s all very difficult to comprehend. I agree that there are a certain few who are a bad influence for everybody but this is your group of  “friends” that I’m talking about here.  You will find a mixed variety among them. The boring, the entirely outgoing, the talkative, the daring, the pious, the prudes, the goody-two-shoes, the tranquil and more. You will also find those who are deceitful towards you and even some who actually do NOT like you. In the latter two cases, you’ll have to exercise some control over yourselves before getting all prejudiced towards them. You’ll have to understand that not everyone will be good with you and those who aren’t can NOT be simply cut out of your lives. Less association, however, can be possible, which, I would say, will be rather good for both parties seeing that there is mutual hidden dislike.

But, in defense of those who do not have a certain liking towards you, I would like you to take a look at yourself and tell me that do you like every single person on this planet? No, don’t say that you don’t like mass murderers and your enemies  and stuff. I meant to ask that is there any one you don’t like for no reason at all? Well, if there isn’t, then Bravo!- You’ve won my newly created Florence Nightingale award. But if you do, then I would say- welcome to the family!
