This past Friday, I had the pleasure of turning another vision of mine into reality and I am still in awe of how well it was received and how beautiful it was!My hope was to introduce Camden's residents to their local fashion designers to make them aware of the incredible talent living and working among them. Camden, NJ, once known as the poorest and most dangerous city in the country, is on the rise. The downtown and waterfront districts are booming and the arts scene is emerging. As a professional designer myself, I'm always looking for that community but when I looked around and could not find one other fashion designer here, I knew they had to be under the radar. I took it as an opportunity to bring them to the forefront with an event that celebrates their work. And it was imperative to me to host it on Black Friday, a national day of shopping, so that locals are not just spending their money with the big box retailers outside of Camden that aren't invested in our community but with their local business owners, these amazing designers.Makeup artist and owner of RetroChic Beauty, Pietra Dunmore, provided the makeup for the models and gave mini makeovers to the guests! And...we made the front page of the Courier Post! (That's South Jersey's main newspaper)Here's a recap of the event: (Pictured above: Designer T.
